PINE RUN RETIREMENT COMMUNITY – DESIGNED FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING
Located in Adams County 2½ miles north of Abbottstown, Pine Run Retirement Community is a place of quiet repose nestled among farms, streams and woodlands. The location is central to many of south central Pennsylvania’s historic and recreational areas. Within a 30 minute drive one can be in Hanover, Carlisle, Harrisburg, York or Gettysburg. Enjoy the amenities that each city offers. In addition to local hospitals we are within an hour of Hershey Medical Center and John Hopkins.
Local restaurants, from fast food to gourmet cuisine, pepper the area. In addition there are several dinner theaters, local colleges, numerous golf courses. discount malls, farm markets. and lakes for recreation and/or fishing.
In developing Pine Run two major commitments were made. The first was to keep as much of the wooded area and topography intact as possible. The second was to recreate the concept of an old-fashioned “neighborhood” reminiscent of the 50’s-homes with yards, trees, garages, porches. and quiet streets with room to stroll or ride a bike.
Most people recognize the freedom they will have from a large, multi-leveled home with its huge yard. Pine Run offers them that “just enough” feeling, without having to give up the amenities to which they have become accustomed. With one level living and customized touches most people who visit Pine Run are pleasantly surprised.
